. To develop laboratorial and theoretical research upon materials, sources and literacies (+)
that include the arts and the main communication processes within the fields of theatre, film and other media, namely the innovative processes of new media production and dissemination.
. To develop research networks within institutions in the Mediterranean region (+)
with the purpose of identifying, collecting and analysing common roots and cultural narrative sources in distinct artistic creative processes (Theatre, Film, Literature and Performing Arts) in order to form a Mediterranean Thesaurus.
. To conduct applied research in artistic creation and teaching labs (+)
in the fields of Theatre, Film and other Arts, establishing meaningful links between theoretical research and creative processes.
. To develop applied research in the field of new technologies (+)
and new modes of expressions associated to them, establishing links amongst media, theoretical reflection about Arts and Media, and practices associated to both.
. To investigate material, virtual, technological resources of artistic phenomena and the media (+)
including the creation of databases related to the objects of theoretical and applied research.
. To research forms of appropriation of artistic and media languages (+)
focusing on the studies of Media and Art Literacy.
. To research Arts and Media historiography (+)
in order to understand current practices in the Arts and the Teaching of Arts and Media, including the relationship between the “old” and the “contemporary”.
. To foster post-graduation learning and other means of analysis and promotion of scientific and artistic knowledge produced by the Centre (+)
together with research and teaching units and institutions worldwide.
. To organize seminars, colloquia, and other meetings (+)
together with local, national, and international institutions, aiming at different audiences.
. To develop an editorial line (+)
in order to publish the results and to promote the products obtained with the projects.
